The Single Sign-On is a Windows service that is started automatically as soon as the PC is booted. It detects the MAC address of the desk phone placed between the PC and the Access Switch by listening to CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) packets. After the successful login to the PC, the server component of the Single Sign-on is informed about the login.
The server component of the Single Sign-On listens to logins that are performed on PCs or phones. It then uses standard APIs of the Cisco Communications Manager (CUCM) to perform the login. Optionally, the Single Sign-On solutions can be extended to login the user to further systems such as the PC-Dialer CTI tool.
Alternatively, the user may always login on the desk phone with user name and pin.
In addition, the client application is able to detect user status changes such as screen locks, screen-saver on/off and logout. In conjunction with the "Presence Manager" of UC-Ware.com, a wide variety of actions may be taken based on the status change of the user (e.g. set call-forwards, login/logout of huntgroups etc.)
